Bandcamp is a leading
independent music marketplace, and a subsidiary of Songtradr,
Inc.
- I was about the 20th employee at Bandcamp, and the 10th engineering
hire. I helped scale the engineering team up to about 50 engineers
before Bandcamp was acquired by Epic Games in 2022.
- As director, I define and drive the vision for Bandcamp’s
engineering organization. I lead and mentor ten strong engineers who
comprise four engineering teams. In the last year, we shipped major
product releases including Bandcamp Clubs, sharable playlists, digital
gift payments in listening parties, a Shopify integration and a postage
and shipping label integration.
- As a manager, I personally led projects to comply with a variety of
compliance and legal issues, including compliance with the EU Digital
Services Act, the US INFORM Act, and shifting US marketplace tax rules.
Combined, these have mitigated over $100MM in potential
regulatory and tax liabilities on accelerated timelines. I also
led my team through 2 acquisitions, maintaining morale and ensuring the
continuity of the business.
- As an engineer, I built multiple payment systems, and I was one of
two engineers on the team that added credit card support to Bandcamp
(deployed with no downtime). More than a billion dollars of
artist payouts have been processed by code I wrote since
2016.

- Built an engineering team and opened our Austin office.
- Built and managed the development of an Python / Django e-commerce
product that powered the D2C web platform used by Vuori, OluKai, Rip
Curl, Dunlop, Alpinestars and other brands.
- Built early stage mobile applications for clients for iOS, using
native tools and languages like ObjectiveC.
